Treewood Charcoal is a family run business in the UK who are passionate about making great cooking charcoal. All of our wood is sourced in the UK from 100% British hardwoods.
We believe that using local British produce it better for the economy and better for the environment as a whole. We are also specialists in harvesting and marketing of home grown timber. This means we have access to some of the best quality, sustainably sourced hardwoods in the UK.
We use these hardwoods to make our lump charcoal.
Why Use Charcoal
What sets us apart from other charcoal suppliers are:
All of our charcoal is made from 100% British hardwood. Nothing imported. Nothing added.
We only work in woodlands that have a ‘Felling Licence’ which is issued by the Forestry Commission. This ensures that the woodland is sustainable and there is a restocking plan in place.
Our charcoal is made from split hardwoods. This results in a big lump charcoal being produced making it perfect for serious BBQ’s and restaurants.
We fell all our own trees which ensures we maintain the highest quality possible.
We make our charcoal using a ‘retort’ instead of a less efficient ‘ring kiln’. This helps us lower our carbon footprint.
If you use our charcoal, you can be safe in the knowledge that it will have one of the lowest carbon footprints of any available charcoal in the UK.
Buying British charcoal supports British Forestry and promotes the positive management of British Broadleaf woodlands.
